Biofattoria l’Upupa of Bassetti Andrea, born from the roots of tradition, represented by Podere Olivello, a typical Tuscan farm near San Giovanni d'Asso (SI), between the Crete Senesi and the Val d'Orcia, and is family managed. From 2017 the organic farm wasrenewed with the third generation managingit. The idea isstill the same, to develop a small farm,  where biodiversità is always the central pivot, on which to continue the research and experimentation of new cultures and methods, to integrate them with ancient knowledge, tastes and peasant traditions.

Developed on 8 rolling hectares of crops, from whichthey produce cereals (spelt, barley, oats, ancientgrains), legumes (chickpeas, cicerchie, lentils) and fodder, with alsoabout 200 meters experimentally cultivated with a synergistic vegetable garden, aromatic herbs, and Carmagnola hemp, and also toscanello beans and 3 varieties of potatoes.

Another important element of this farm are the animals: hens and roosters cohabiting together with geese, ducks, turkeys, pigeons and Vietnamesepigs in the shade of the olive trees, while the donkeys share the forest and graze in the open fields with the micro flock of goats. And finally the bees, with 25 hives.
